about us

The Cody Law Firm has been serving clients in central Pennsylvania for more than 30 years.  Established in 1980 and based in downtown Lancaster city, our firm has a distinguished history.

The Cody Law Firm was founded as Windolph, Burkholder, Stainton & Gray.  J. Lyman Windolph was known for being Milton Hershey’s personal attorney. At his retirement, he was believed to have argued more cases before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court than any other lawyer. H. Clay Burkholder served as judge of the Court of Common Pleas of Lancaster County and was the last democrat to serve as judge on the court.  William Stainton was chief counsel to the Hamilton Watch Company prior to joining the firm. IN the early 1980s, Charles Folty Herr joined the firm after serving as long time solicitor for the Metropolitan Lancaster Water Company.

Today, we are The Cody Law Firm.  Our attorneys, Stephen W. Cody, Douglas H. Cody, Harvey S. Miller and Edwin G. Pfursich continue the firm’s tradition of providing superior representation in criminal and civil cases.  Although we have always handled a broad range of legal matters, we pride ourselves as being lawyers who litigate and go to court to fight for our clients.
